North South Travel

North South Travel is owned by the North South Travel Development Trust (reg. charity no.1040656). All net profits earned by ticket sales are held by the trust and paid out in grants twice a year.

Hundreds of charities and groups have been supported by these donations and thousands of lives impacted by the projects that North South supports.

Burundi: North South provided funds to open a women’s self-help restaurant in a poor quarter of Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. The project provides income and employment for ten women and an affordable social facility in a part of town with few such provisions.

Congo DRC: North South made a grant to enable training in lime production as an alternative to cement. The use of lime is already well known on the island of Ijwi in Lake Kivu. Our donation enabled local technicians from the island to train people on the mainland, thus providing employment and an alternative to expensive imported cement.
